The Scotsman reports that a high-profile European transfer means that Alfredo Morelos will not be leaving Rangers on Deadline Day.

Clubs need to complete any late business by midnight tonight (Monday 2nd Sept) and it had been reported that Galatasaray were considering a big swoop for El Bufalo [Aksam].

However, the Turkish giants have since turned elsewhere in their quest for additional firepower.

Celebrated Columbian striker Falcao looks to have opted to leave the glitz and glamour of AS Monaco behind and head to Istanbul. Around 25,000 fans greeted the ex-Manchester United and Porto forward at the airport ahead of the deal’s completion.

Meanwhile, it looks as though Brighton and Romania striker Florin Andone will be joining him on loan.

With two new forwards in the door, it’s asserted that Galatasaray’s business is done and that there’s now no chance of Morelos heading for the Ibrox exit.

While disappointment will be the overwhelming feeling for all Bears this morning following Sunday’s Old Firm defeat, holding onto Alfredo Morelos was paramount ahead of challenging for silverware this season.

One Old Firm defeat doesn’t signal the end to a title race – a 55th top-flight league win is still very much possible. Furthermore, the Gers are still in the League Cup and the Europa League, with the Scottish Cup to come.

There are a lot of positives to take from the beginning of the season, and holding onto Morelos is certainly one to add to the list.
