Rangers star Glen Kamara played 90 minutes as home country Finland fell to a 2-0 defeat to Italy in Udine. It was also the midfielder’s 10th cap for the nation.
The gangly midfield star is one of the first names on the Finland teamsheet, but he was powerless to resist as the Italians swept him and his teammates aside.
Nicolo Barella and Moise Kean scored the goals as the Azzurri started their European Championship Campaign with a win.

It would’ve been a major upset if Finland secured the points, and Glen Kamara’s attention will now switch to facing Armenia on Tuesday night.
Finland faces a struggle to get out of Group J if they’re to make it to the European Championships in a group in which Italy are clear favourites.

Finland will face Bosnia, Greece, Armenia and Lichtenstein as well as the former World Cup winners. The Finns still definitely have a chance of qualification and a lot will rest in the results in their next few matches. Kamara will also be pivotal to any of the side’s success.

It’s great to see the midfielder reach double figures in terms of caps for his country. The more internationalists Rangers have in their side the better and it can only help the 23-year-old develop as a player.

Rangers signed Glen Kamara for a small fee in January after originally negotiating a pre-contract with the club.
He has started his Rangers career strongly and he looks like he could be a real Rangers hero in the making.
