Rangers gaffer Steven Gerrard has extra cause to celebrate this week after the ex-Liverpool captain became the 8th player to be inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame.
Stevie G was synonymous with Liverpool over a 17-year playing career with the club and the now Gers boss stands out as one of the greatest players of a generation.
Gerrard made 710 appearances for Liverpool in his career and scored 186 goals for the Anfield club in an illustrious and selfless Merseyside career.
The boyhood Red won a combined total of nine major honours at the club but it was Gerrard’s unwavering loyalty and ability to step up in big moments which set the midfielder apart.
Gerrard joins a who’s who of English footballing royalty as a range of top players continue to be recognised by the official Premier League Hall of Fame.
Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer and Arsenal’s French forward Thierry Henry were the inaugural inductees whilst Man United trio Eric Cantona, Roy Keane and David Beckham make the grade.
The other two players who are included in the Hall of Fame are Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp and Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard.

This moment also comes after Gerrard’s success at Rangers this season was recognised as the Scottish Football Writers’ Manager of the Year, PFA Scotland Manager of the Year and the Scottish Premiership Manager of the Year.
Rangers fans were delighted for the Ibrox gaffer as the humble Gers boss admitted he would “cherish” being recognised for his achievements like this.
