According to the Rangers Review, Danilo has no future at the club and will be allowed to leave this summer.
After signing Shankland, the Brazilian striker has fallen further in Rohl’s pecking order at Ibrox.
Danilo spent this past season out on loan at NEC, but did little to convince the club to secure his services permanently.
They have opted against exercising the option to buy him, meaning that he will be returning to Glasgow.
However, with Bojan Miovski also being ahead of him in the pecking order, a permanent exit is on the cards this summer for the former Feyenoord striker.
The 27-year-old still has two years left on his Rangers contract, which means the club can command a decent fee from his sale in the coming weeks.

Danilo had ample chances to prove his worth in Glasgow, but he faced numerous fitness issues that seriously jeopardised his impact on the field of play.
Scoring 16 goals in 76 appearances is not a good return at all and if he’s unable to find the back of the net regularly and stay fit, it makes no sense to keep him at the club.
He is also on relatively high wages, so offloading him this summer will be the sensible thing to do.
