Rangers forward Florian Kamberi has been named in the SPFL Team of the Week for his performance against St Johnstone as he prepares for his first start for the club against Braga.
The 24-year-old signed on loan from Hibernian on deadline day and had only experienced cameo roles off the bench ahead of the weekend trip to Perth.

However, with the Gers trailing at the break, he was given 45 minutes and was hugely impressive, scoring once and registering a fine assist.
A combination of that display and Alfredo Morelos’ suspension moved Steven Gerrard to admit that he will be named in the team for the Europa League Round of 32 second-leg clash [Glasgow Times], and a little over 24 hours before that game was due to kick-off, the SPFL published their select XI from the weekend’s action.
Kamberi wasn’t named Star Man, as that accolade went to Alloa Athletic’s Kevin Cawley, who scored once and registered two late assists in a dramatic 4-4 draw at Greenock Morton in the Championship.
However, the Swiss-born attacker does find a spot in a front three alongside East Fife’s Anton Dowds and Billy McKay of Ross County.
It should serve as a confidence boost for the loanee ahead of the biggest match of his career to date.
After a lively cameo during the first leg at Ibrox, he’ll have the responsibility of leading the line against a side who are yet to lose at home under Ruben Amorim.
If he can come up with the goods and fire the Gers to the last 16, he’ll win himself further favour amongst the supporters and will greatly improve his chances of earning a permanent deal come the summer.
