The Rangers Women’s footballing department have continued their ambitious summer recruitment plans by poaching goalkeeper Megan Cunningham from rivals Celtic.

The Ibrox club has signalled their intent from the off in the close season as Gregory Vignal’s side look to recruit a group of female players capable of implementing success for Rangers.

Cunningham becomes the latest part of the ambitious plans at Ibrox and the 24-year-old goalie has signed a one-year contract with the club.

“We’re happy to welcome a goalkeeper in Megan who has considerable experience to the club” said Women’s and Girls’ Football manager Amy McDonald [Rangers].

“She is very hard working, committed and has a very professional attitude, all of which we know will be an asset to Rangers both on and off the pitch.”

The signing of Cunningham follows the signatures of experienced international players Jenna Fife and Demi Vance who joined the club earlier in the week.

Back in September, Rangers made their first signings of Gregory Vignal’s reign [Rangers] as manager by bringing in European youth internationals Daina Bouma and Lisa Martinez, as well as former Everton defender Emma Brownlie.

The SWPL fixtures have also just been released with Rangers kicking off against Hearts at the Hummel Training Centre on February 23rd.
