Umar Sadiq spent a highly unsuccessful couple of months at Rangers at the start of the season.
He was third choice striker at the club and supposed to be pushing Alfredo Morelos and Kyle Lafferty to keep standards high.

Unfortunately, he couldn’t have put any less pressure on those two.
Rarely seen on a match day, the 22-year-old made little to no impact at the club.
During his big chance as an enforced inclusion from the start in the League Cup semi-final against Aberdeen, he never looked like scoring.

Until now,
In fact, he was dropped for their weekend defeat against Cosenza.
Yet, away at Venezia on Wednesday, we finally saw a glimpse of proper ability.
Picking it up around 40 yards from goal, he charges at the heart of the opposition defence, before shifting the ball out of his feet.
The groundwork laid, he then whips the ball into the far corner, well out of the reach of the keeper.

Maybe there is a player in there after all.
That will come as little solace to Rangers fans, though.
Had he offered something like that at Hampden, back in October, the Gers might aleady have already secured some silverware this season.
