Rangers flop Umar Sadiq may not have secured a big move this summer, but he continues to show prolific form for Almeria.
Gers fans were stunned last season when the Nigerian forward, who had struggled so much at Ibrox, was linked with a host of top European clubs.
His numbers do suggest he’s now a very competent finisher, though.
He scored 28 goals and notched nine assists in all competitions last season, including six strikes for Partizan Belgrade before his move to Spain.
Despite his goal haul, Almeria failed to seal promotion to La Liga, but they reportedly slapped a €30m (£25.6m) price tag on his head, and ultimately, none of the linked clubs stumped up the cash.
The 24-year-old will no doubt have been disappointed at the prospect of a second season in the Spanish second-tier but he refocused and has started the campaign strongly.
He netted on the opening day at FC Cartagena and notched a second goal of the campaign at home to Malaga, before taking his tally to four with an impressive brace at Alcorcon at the weekend.
The former Ger was initially credited with a hat-trick but the final goal – a penalty which went in off the goalkeeper after crashing off the crossbar – was eventually reclassified as an own goal.
If he continues to score at this rate, a big club will surely pounce in the January window.
