Expensive Rangers mistake Carlos Pena has lost out on a contract with Polish outfit GKS Tychy, according to reports.
The Daily Record claim that FOX Sports reports in Poland say “Carlos will not play with GKS Tychy. We can confirm it.”
The news comes after Carlos Pena was quoted in the Daily Record saying he was close to agreeing the deal. In the same interview, he takes responsibility for his shambolic time in Glasgow.

It means Pena is still without a club since mutually terminating his expensive contract at Ibrox. The Mexican player says in the Daily Record quotes that he knows, “I can get back to where I was.”

Pena struggling to find a club

Pena is clearly struggling to find a club after his controversial time at Rangers. For whatever reason. But even if the move did go through, GKS Tychy play in the Polish second division. It’s a much lower level, and shows how far he’s fallen.
That said, Pena might’ve even turned down the deal in hope of something better.
During his time in Glasgow, Pena was going through much rumoured off-field problems. They prevented him ever settling at the club and we clearly didn’t see the best of him. Now the situation has come to an end, it’s time both parties moved on.

It is an expensive mistake from which the club must learn their lesson. Carlos Pena reportedly cost the club upwards of £2m just over 18 months ago. He was also on reported £25k+ wages.
Still only 29, there’s still a chance the obviously talented player will turn it around. But it won’t be in Poland, or at least GKS Tychy.
