Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has dropped a big transfer hint about a potential signing for the Ibrox side this window – but he revealed it could depend on who leaves the club.
Rangers have consistently reiterated that the club won’t rush into the market this month [Glasgow Times] and instead are determined to trim the fat in the squad.
But Steven Gerrard has said the club could have their eye on one player should all things go to plan in the window.

“We’ve got things bubbling away in terms of players going out on-loan to play football,” said Gerrard [Daily Record].
“I think that echoes and back up what Ross has said about trimming the squad. We have to be fair to players who haven’t played as much but are training well, being professional and doing everything.
“But we’re just overcrowded in terms of numbers, so we’ll be respectful and try and get them the right move so they can go and play football.
“I think, come the back end of January, you’ll probably see three or four go the other way.
“And, depending what happens in terms of those three or four, will depend on maybe adding one.
“But there won’t be much activity in terms of incomings, that’s all I can say.
“I don’t want to give names, in terms of ins and outs, but there will be ins and outs, that’s all I can give you.”
Gerrard appears to confirm that the Ibrox club will make at least a move in the transfer window with that last comment.

Serge Atakayi, Andy King and Eros Grezda have already left the club with more expected in the coming weeks.
But who might Rangers be looking to bring into Ibrox before the end of the transfer window?
