As one bluenose in Ross McCrorie exits Rangers, it’s got fans talking up the potential of another joining the ranks at Ibrox.

Rangers have been routinely linked to Aberdeen youngster Lewis Ferguson who is the son of ex-Gers star Derek and nephew of former captain Barry.

Given his bloodline, last season’s Scottish Football Writers’ Association’s Young Player of the Year is always going to be linked with a move to Ibrox.

There has been a spate of reports linking the midfielder with Rangers [Football Insider] with Ferguson himself even taking time to address the speculation.

“I’ve just seen [the transfer speculation] the same way as everybody else. I don’t read too much into that but I’ve obviously been shown it on social media and stuff,” said Ferguson [Herald].

“When you see stuff like that [he has also been linked to Brentford], you’re obviously doing something right to have clubs looking at you.

“But my full focus is on getting back to training with Aberdeen and playing next season.”

With Rangers fans mixed on the transfer of Ross McCrorie to Aberdeen given the traditional bad blood between the two clubs, Rangers fans are wondering if the move is a precursor to Ferguson moving in the opposite way.

Whilst we must stress this is purely speculation coming from the supporters on Twitter, with Steven Gerrard looking for a midfielder, Gers fans are split over whether the club should move for Ferguson:
