Rangers fans will love what Steven Gerrard did at Anfield earlier today as Liverpool Legends took on Celtic Legends in a charity game.
What’s the story?
Well – despite leaving Ibrox for Aston Villa back in November 2021 – Gerrard clearly still holds Rangers close to his heart.
That was evident on Merseyside earlier on Saturday as the 42-year-old decided to wind Celtic fans up, after opening the scoring with a penalty in front of the travelling supporters.
Gerrard infuriated the Celtic fans with his celebration, causing one supporter to even through his shirt as cups and all sorts of objects rained down onto the Anfield pitch.
He even goes back for more after his initial celebration appears to have ended, prompting even more fury from the away section.

Clearly, the Celtic fans haven’t forgotten about his links to Rangers.
Gerrard left plenty of Rangers fans angry and disappointed when leaving for Aston Villa back in November 2021.
However, even those who still dislike the Liverpool legend will have surely had a smile on their face watching him goad the Celtic fans.
You can see footage of the moment below.
Even in a charity match, the Celtic fans couldn’t help but let their dislike of Rangers take over.
We aren’t sure we’ve ever seen supporters throwing missiles at someone during a charity match, so their hatred of the Gers as well as Gerrard must be pretty strong.
Rangers fans must have soft spot for Gerrard after Celtic taunting
As aforesaid, many were furious when Gerrard left for Aston Villa.
Nevertheless, he did manage to stop Celtic win what would have been an unprecedented ten in a row during his time in Glasgow, and his actions towards their fans today surely delighted Rangers supporters.
Regardless of how his time at Ibrox ended, Gerrard clearly holds Rangers close to his heart.
