Rangers supporters have been left completely thrilled after fresh footage emerged showing Findlay Curtis firing in a spectacular late equaliser during a pre-season clash in Spain.

Derek McInnes’ squad continued their preparations on Sunday evening with a highly informative 1-1 draw against South African side Kaizer Chiefs.

The fixture, played behind closed doors at the Camilo Cano Olympic Stadium in La Nucia, gave the management team a further look at several summer additions.

Dan Neil captained the side on the evening, featuring alongside fellow new arrivals Lawrence Shankland, Ross McCrorie and Ben Godfrey in a heavily revamped squad.

Moment of brilliance from Findlay Curtis

After a largely uneventful hour of football, it was the South African side who broke the deadlock in the 77th minute.

McInnes’ side responded with immediate attacking intent, as Albanian playmaker Nedim Bajrami unluckily rattled the woodwork shortly after falling behind.

However, the defining moment of the match belonged to Scotland’s rising talent, Curtis.

Linking up efficiently with Bajrami on the right flank in the final minutes of the match, Curtis struck a highly deceptive shot-cum-cross.

The ball turned into an intensely dipping effort that sailed cleanly over the stranded Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper before nestling perfectly into the far left corner of the net.

Rangers XI: Rydnn McGuire (Mason Munn, 45′), Ross McCrorie (Paul Nsio, 88′), Dujon Sterling (Clinton Nsiala, 71′), Ben Godfrey, Tuur Rommens (Findlay Curtis, 71′), Tochi Chukwuani (Nedim Bajrami, 55′), Dan Neil (Lyall Cameron, 88′), Mohamed Diomande (Djeidi Gassama, 88′), Oliver Antman (Emmanuel Fernandez, 45′), Youssef Chermiti (Bojan Miovski, 66′), Ryan Naderi (Lawrence Shankland, 71′)

Perfect response from Rangers ace after historic World Cup run

The incredible strike marked Curtis’ very first run-out for the Light Blues since returning from international duty.

The teenage sensation recently made headlines by officially becoming Scotland’s youngest-ever player to feature at a FIFA World Cup during the national team’s campaign in North America.

What is your reaction to the new third kit?

It's fair to say a lot of Rangers fans have hated it…

Rather than resting on his laurels, his clutch impact from the bench sends a definitive statement to McInnes ahead of the upcoming competitive schedule.

The match is the opening fixture of a vital seven-day training camp in Spain, designed to build maximum match sharpness before the Scottish Premiership kicks off against Dundee United on 31 July.

With high-profile new signings integrating quickly and academy standouts like Curtis delivering elite moments, the Ibrox faithful have plenty of reasons to remain optimistic.
