Rangers fans have suggested the club move for legendary broadcaster Clive Tyldesley as the Ibrox support comes to terms with closed-door coverage on RangersTV next season.
The iconic ITV commentator went viral after posting a video revealing he was “upset and baffled” by the broadcaster’s decision to replace him as their senior football commentator.
ITV announced earlier in the week that 65-year-old Tyldesley – who has spent decades with the broadcaster – would be replaced by Sam Matterface, who is 23 years his junior.
A visibly frustrated Tyldesley can be seen in the video above which at the time of writing was closing in on six million views.
After decades of dedication to the job at ITV and some legendary coverage across major tournaments and the Champions League, it’s a bitter pill for the broadcaster to swallow.
He is clear that this is ITV’s decision and gives special sentiment to the sadness he feels because he will no longer cover England matches on the channel, saying “I’ll miss them”.
Whilst Tyldesley acknowledges that “ITV have been really good for me” and he will “carry on as their number two commentator”, the broadcaster remains “really disappointed”.
However, a number of Rangers fans have extended an olive branch to Tyldesley, suggesting he takes up a role at RangersTV next season.

There is an ongoing debate in Rangers circles over Tom Miller continuing as the main commentator for RangersTV this season.
The voice of RangersTV, Tom is someone who definitely splits the opinion of fans.
Whilst many enjoy the genuine passion and intrigue Tom has for the club, some believe his commentary can often set the club up for a fail if things don’t go right.

Other names mentioned as part of the panel on RangersTV include Super Ally, Neil McCann and Kevin Thomson.
Even an ambitious move for Jon Champion is something supporters have suggested.
Across the city, Celtic have already courted controversy with their choice of pundit, which include ex-players Chris Sutton and John Hartson as well as BBC Sportscene pundit Michael Stewart.
