It was a night of mixed emotions for Rangers midfielder Steven Davis as Northern Ireland missed out on automatic Euro 2020 qualification on the night he broke the British midfielder cap record.
On top of that, the Ulsterman missed a first-half penalty which may well have been enough to win the match after the game finished 0-0.
The 34-year-old midfielder had the chance to mark his 116th cap – which takes him beyond David Beckham – with a special goal, but alas it was not to be for the former Southampton captain.

Davis himself will be the first to admit that he got it all wrong from the spot as the Rangers star skied it over the bar from 12 yards.
Northern Ireland huffed and puffed in their search for a winner at Windsor Park, but couldn’t break the resolve of the Dutch side.
There’s also no way to tell if the Netherlands would’ve responded in kind had Davis found the net around the half-hour mark.
The draw means that Northern Ireland won’t qualify for Euro 2020 through the groups, with Germany and Holland set to qualify above them, but could do so through the Nations League.
It was never going to be an easy task for the Ulsterman and fans have taken to Twitter to both commend and console the Windsor Park captain.

Northern Ireland will now go to Germany on Tuesday night and look forward to hopefully securing their spot at Euro 2020 next March.
