Rangers fans have been warning fellow supporters about attending matches away to Livingston next season after the Tony Macaroni side supported the league-ending SPFL proposal.
The Lions are accused of lying down to Celtic’s perfect vision for the end of the season which will see the Parkhead club crowned champions and Hearts relegated.
Livingston are happy for the league to be called on average points but admit “no option is great” and that “it is impossible to find a neutral ground which suits everyone”.
The Lions also claim “the only way for league money to be distributed is via the league season concluding and we must emphasise that voiding the season does not achieve this” [Livingston].
There has been absolutely no suggestion from Rangers that the season should be voided.
Rangers – who have support from other clubs in the division – feel the decision should not be rushed through and a Members Resolution can help free-up prize money early [Rangers].
A similar initiative is being launched in the English Premier League [Times] where prize money will be released proportionally to support hard-up clubs.
Rangers fans are well aware of the financial benefits their travelling support bring to clubs like Livingston and are reconsidering visiting the ground when football does restart.
