Travel disruptions are set to kick into effect for Rangers fans travelling from Edinburgh tomorrow.
The Gers face Aberdeen at Hampden Park as they look to make the Betfred Cup final. Rangers are set to flood the majority of Hampden Park with their own supporters, with Aberdeen failing to sell their ticket allocation.
But there’s going to be some major disruption for those travelling from Edinburgh tomorrow on the railway. ScotRail have confirmed via Twitter that major engineering work will come into effect on Sunday at Bellgrove station. This involves the Edinburgh to Helensburgh Central/Milgavie line.
It’s expected that journeys are going to have largely increased wait-times due to the disruptions. Fans travelling will only get to Garrowhill going westbound and Partick going eastbound. Bus services will instead be available as an alternative.
Nasty effect
If this is set to have a nasty affect on your journey, it’s important to plan ahead now. This will most certainly inconvenience some supporters travelling from the capital.
ScotRail have confirmed that they will put more carriages on to deal with the demand. Rangers fans will have to deal with queue systems at Glasgow Central and Queen Street before kick-off. On their return, the same systems will be in place at Mount Florida/Kings Park and Haymarket.

It’s a real inconvenience for supporters, but it’s best to plan ahead in situations like these. Kick-off on Sunday is at 4:30pm, so fans shouldn’t have to leave too early to make the match.
Rangers are looking to get to their first cup final under Steven Gerrard. It’s set to be a monumental occasion for the Rangers fans, and they’ll be backed in heavy numbers.
Aberdeen will be looking for revenge after Rangers outplayed them at Pittodrie on opening day. Rangers will need their support to back them from the beginning, so hopefully the travel disruptions aren’t too chaotic.
