Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has taken to Instagram after the club’s 5-1 win over Motherwell, and it’s got some Gers fans thinking it’s a cryptic hint he could want to stay.
Fans have certainly become accustomed to high-profile links to the Colombian striker in every transfer window but after Lille reportedly launched a £16m move the writing appeared to be on the wall for real this time.
Steven Gerrard then said Alfredo Morelos’ had his “head turned” by the interest and the Rangers boss dropped him for the next few matches.
But after returning to the side Morelos has looked rejuvenated and every inch the powerhouse forward and team player which makes him so valuable to the club.
Posting on his Instagram account, Alfredo Morelos made mention of his teammates and by all account appears very happy at Ibrox.
Translated into English, Morelos captions a photo of him with his Rangers teammates as:
“I do what you can’t. You do what I can. TOGETHER WE CAN DO GREAT THINGS.”
It’s had plenty of Rangers fans on the post gushing with several believing it’s a cryptic clue that the feisty Colombian has no plans to exit Glasgow just yet.
Morelos’ post also comes after another selfless performance in the win against Motherwell where El Bufalo celebrated like he’d scored himself when teammates hit the back of the net.
At times in the last few seasons Rangers have had an over-reliance on the striker but now goals are being more evenly shared amongst the team.
Part of this is because of the hardworking sacrifice Morelos puts in for his teammates and Rangers fans will be hoping he can achieve his aim of doing “great things” with this side.
