Rangers fans are split over a controversial new banner that has been placed on part of the famous red brickwork on the Broomloan Stand of Ibrox Stadium.
The banner comes as the club look to modernise the ground and the surrounding area and whilst many fans think colourful upgrades have their place, others are not so keen.
The move comes after Rangers upgraded the old banners located on the Rangers Megastore as part of a £250k Castore rebranding of the previously boycotted retail unit.
The banner pictured includes 15 small square images alluding to both the history of the club and a range of services and initiatives at Rangers.
They include photos of Bill Struth, Walter Smith, John Greig, Davie Cooper, and Barry Ferguson, as well as reminders of the MyGers membership scheme and RangersTV.
The designs come as part of a range of upgrades at Ibrox Stadium which itself has benefited from continuing investment over the last few seasons.
An aspect of the club for too long neglected, the board and those in the corridors of power at Rangers are finally investing in bringing the stadium up to modern standard both inside and out.
Back in 2016 then Rangers chairman Dave King warned that it would take “years” to get the iconic ground back up to standard.

Only last month the Ibrox side announced plans to upgrade the hospitality and Bar 72 areas of the stadium to an elite European standard, creating the Blue Sky Lounge and Club 72.
But when it comes to upgrading the outside of the stadium, this has undoubtedly split the support, with many outraged or turned off by the look of the banners on the stadium:

For some fans, these are a welcome addition and they’ve leapt to the defence of the company who installed them:

Whilst the debate will rage on over whether or not installing the banner is the right move, you cannot deny the improved and much-needed investment going into the stadium.
It’s just not always easy to get the club’s supporters to agree on everything in the process!
