Rangers have officially launched their new home kit with fans able to pick up the jersey ahead of the final game of the season at Ibrox.

The Gers have released their first Umbro kit since 2012/13 with this striking classic style blue Rangers home jersey with a white collar and white cuffs launched ahead of the visit of Dundee United.

The release brings to an end five years of Castore jerseys at Ibrox, although the retailer is behind this latest launch after procuring the license to print Umbro goods.

Priced at £80, the design has certainly turned a few heads and here’s how the Rangers support have been reacting to the club’s new home kit launch.

Rangers fans react to new home kit

First off there have been a host of positive responses for the new Rangers home kit, with the Umbro jersey catching the eye of several supporters.

One Rangers fan branded the new home jersey ‘very smart’ and added that he ‘can’t wait to see Nico wearing it alongside the captain’s armband’ next season.

Another echoed those claims by suggesting the kit ‘looks smart’ and added that it ‘will be a collector’s item’ when Rangers potentially switch sponsor to Red Bull next season.

The collar certainly seems to have split opinion, but this supporter admits he has a soft spot for Rangers kits that sport them.

Rangers home kit pricing branded ‘disgraceful’

At the same time, there are some Rangers fans who’ve taken aim at the pricing of the Ibrox jersey this season.

With no embroidered badge, Rangers fans will still be forking out £80 for the adult home kit and a sizeable £65 for kids.

The pricing has caught the eye of supporters, who’ve not been shy in complaining about the rising cost of footballs kits.

Another branded the cost of the jersey as ‘disgraceful’ with the lack of an embroidered badge adding to the lack of value in the jersey.

One added that ‘after the season we’ve just had’ that asking fans to part with £80 for a home kit is a big ask and it adds to a sense that the reaction from Rangers fans is mixed.

That’s a common theme, with another supporter slamming the ‘disgraceful pricing’ of the Rangers home kit after a tumultuous season.
