Rangers fans are somewhat not used to all this stability at Ibrox ahead of a new season as across the city, rivals Celtic take the plunge on the untested Ange Postecoglou.

Whereas Rangers are on the hunt for quality additions and not wholesale changes – for the first summer in what feels like a generation – Celtic are in a transformational state.

From the top to the bottom Parkhead has been turned upside down and the risky appointment of former Yokohama F. Marinos boss Postecoglou has the season already neatly poised.

Time is not a commodity you often get in Glasgow and our Old Firm rivals don’t have much of it as they look to completely revamp their squad ahead of next season.

But as they try to get fans on side with what big Ange is trying to do, the Parkhead club released a training clip where the manager was mic’d up during a session.

In the clip Postecoglou encourages his players to never stop running, to pass and move the ball and be relentless.

Celtic fans – eager to convince themselves that everything’s going to be OK – have naturally jumped on the clip as their buzz builds ahead of the new campaign.

But Rangers fans can’t resist ribbing their biggest rivals over the overreaction to the clip as Gers supporters took to Twitter to twist their arm:

Postecoglou, 55, has taken his first job in European football with Celtic and there is a sizeable task ahead as they look to halt a rampant Rangers.

Former Rangers chairman Dave King has given his two cents regarding the appointment as he cuts the nonsense regarding our Celtic rivals.
