Rangers fans should love winter arrival Scott Wright’s latest comments as the exciting attacker eyes big impacts and further success at Ibrox [Herald].
Wright moved from rivals Aberdeen for a minor fee on deadline day having already penned a pre-contract agreement earlier in the window.
Since then, he’s made five appearances, all of which have been as a substitute.
He’s shown some promise already and with the Premiership title secured, he’s likely to receive more playing time in the coming weeks.
Wright is eager to grab any opportunity that comes his way and wants the team to kick on in both the short and long term.
“I am just trying to make an impact when I come on, whether that is winning penalties or even keeping the ball in the corner,” he said [Herald]. “Anything to help the team, whatever that is.”
“It is always a good time to join Rangers, but it is a good time. The team is full of confidence and I think the way the team plays really suits me. It is a good time to be a Rangers player.
“We aren’t going to stand still and be happy with where we are, we are always going to want to keep pushing, be the best version of ourselves and constantly improve.”
Wright has spoken well since his arrival at Ibrox and supporters will likely appreciate these latest comments, as the 23-year-old comes across as a team player but also an individual with ambition and an appreciation of the privileged position he is in as a Rangers player.
The best he can realistically hope for in upcoming fixtures against Slavia Prague and Celtic are further cameo outings, but after the split, it would be a surprise not to see him start a game or two as Steven Gerrard assesses his options for next season.
Rangers fans have responded on social media after a high-profile figure was linked with the vacant Celtic manager’s job.
