Former Rangers youth and Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour might only be 18, but he’s already turning out for the Stamford Bridge club.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard handed Gilmour 45 minutes to impress against Bohemians in Dublin. And impress the youngster did.
Chelsea fans haven’t been able to shut-up about the talented young Scot’s debut ever since. And some Rangers fans have been quick to lend their support to the player too.
When you see Billy Gilmour playing for the Chelsea first team at 18, it shows how important tying boys like Josh McPake down to a new deal at Rangers. These boys are the future of our club, hopefully. Excited to see how all these young players develop over the years. https://t.co/prmjDg2v7D

Rangers had been desperate to keep a hold of Gilmour prior to his reported £500k move to Chelsea as a 15-year-old in 2017.
But such is the player’s renowned talent it was always going to be a struggle to convince him to stay at Ibrox.
Now 18, Billy sits on the fringes of the Chelsea squad in what could well be a breakthrough season for the gifted midfielder.
Frank Lampard clearly saw enough him to stick him on in this pre-season friendly and being a world-class midfielder himself, Lamps may well see Gilmour his own development project.
The teenager, from Ardrossan in Ayrshire, has also never forgotten the support he received at Ibrox, praising the role Kenny Miller has played in his career [Football Daft].
Does that mean we could see the wonderkid back at Ibrox on loan at one point in the future?
Well, we can certainly hope so.
