Rangers fans have responded to a tweet from Leon Balogun, praising the defender and asking if he’s fit to take on Livingston on Sunday.

The Nigeria international joined the Gers on a free late last month following a spell at Wigan Athletic.

Since then, he’s made three consecutive starts in the Premiership and the Gers are yet to concede a goal when he has been on the field.

Balogun starred on debut against Aberdeen and has since shown impressive pace as well as composure on the ball in fixtures against St Mirren and St Johnstone, making him an instant hit with supporters.

There’s some concern surrounding the 32-year-old’s fitness ahead of the weekend clash against Livingston, though.

That’s because he was replaced at half-time during the midweek win over St Johnstone, after falling awkwardly during the first period.

Filip Helander came on and impressed but it seems many fans ideally want Balogun to continue in the XI alongside Connor Goldson.

He tweeted on Thursday to recognise the win, writing: “Well done lads! +3 and another clean sheet – on to the next one!”

The post went down well with supporters, racking up almost 6000 likes, with many Bears also taking the chance to praise Balogun and ask about his fitness ahead of the weekend.
