Rangers fans have responded to a heartfelt tweet from Kemar Roofe in which the Gers star thanked those who have supported him in recent weeks.

Roofe was sent off in the Europa League Last 16 second-leg clash against Slavia Prague at Ibrox on 18 March, with his challenge leaving Slavia keeper Ondrej Kolar with a nasty head injury.

The collision was completely accidental but the referee was left with little choice but to dismiss Roofe and the sending off made an already difficult task near impossible for the Gers, who were ultimately knocked out of the competition.

After the game, the 28-year-old shared racist abuse he had received on Instagram, calling on the social media platform and UEFA to ‘take notice’.

Rangers supporters and football fans, in general, have rallied around Roofe as he continues to call out abusers and he returned to action following the international break on Sunday, playing a starring role in a 4-0 win over Cove Rangers, as the Gers sealed progression to the fourth round.

Roofe pounced on a parried Scott Arfield shot and turned in a Scott Wright cross in the 31st and 32nd minutes respectively to take his overall tally for the season to 14.

“I’m dedicating my two goals today to everyone that has supported me over the last few weeks…I see all the positive messages you are sending me and appreciate it a lot!” he wrote on Twitter on Monday.

The tweet has received over 15k likes and many Bears took the opportunity to once again express their support for Roofe.
