Rangers fans have responded on social media after the Gers’ starting XI was confirmed for Sunday afternoon’s Premiership clash with Celtic.
It’s been a difficult week for the Light Blues given the Covid outbreak at the club and the travel involved for their Europa League playoff second leg against Alashkert.
However, Ibrox will be rocking for the first Old Firm of the season and while some key players are still missing, a strong-looking team has been named.
Robby McCrorie retains his place in goal after a solid competitive debut in Armenia, while there’s only one change to the back four.
With Nathan Patterson self-isolating, Leon Balogun comes in at right-back with Connor Goldson, Filip Helander and Borna Barisic completing the defence.
In midfield, Steven Davis will be tasked with dictating the tempo of the match and he’s joined by Glen Kamara and Joe Aribo.
At the top end of the pitch, Alfredo Morelos will lead the line, with Kemar Roofe and Ryan Kent providing support from the inside forward berths.
New signing Juninho Bacuna is on the bench, as is fit-again attacker Fashion Sakala.
Will this side be strong enough to secure all three points on derby day?
Some fans are gutted that Patterson is unavailable, as with skipper James Tavernier also missing, Balogun is having to provide makeshift cover at right-back.
Here’s a selection of reactions from Twitter:
