Rangers fans have responded after James Tavernier tweeted about England’s dramatic Euro 2020 semi-final triumph over Denmark.
The Three Lions set up a final against Italy on Sunday by defeating the Danes 2-1 after extra time at Wembley.

A 39th-minute own goal from Simon Kjaer brought the scores level after a Mikkel Damsgaard free-kick had put Denmark in front, and then Harry Kane tucked away a rebound from a penalty in the 104th minute to seal the win.
The victory will have made a lot of Rangers players happy, given that ten of the current first-team squad hail from England.
The captain, Tavernier, is one of those, and the Yorkshireman tweeted a photo of the celebrations after Kane’s winner accompanied by lion, England flag and raised hands emojis.
Some supporters argued during the 2020/21 season that Tavernier’s outstanding form at club level made him deserving of a first-ever international call-up.
After all, he did rack up a remarkable 19 goals and 16 assists from 46 appearances in all competitions.

However, unfortunately for him, right-back is probably the most well-stocked position in England right now, with Kyle Walker, Kieran Trippier, Reece James and Trent Alexander-Arnold some of the famous names ahead of him in the pecking order.
Tavernier’s tweet wasn’t well-received by a minority who are approaching the tournament with an ‘anyone but England’ mentality, but it also prompted a lot of positive responses from Rangers fans, some of whom brought up the Gers skipper’s non-selection.
