Rangers fans rejoice as first team star finally returns to full training

Today was momentous for Jamie Murphy.
The 29-year-old winger made a good impact at Ibrox after signing from Brighton. He scored the first competitive goal of the Gerrard regime and therefore, looked set to be an influential squad member.

The reality, though, has been quite different.
Unfortunately, he then picked up a serious knee injury away at Kilmarnock in August.
Since then, he’s been little more than a spectator.

Not long after the turn of the year, the manager had raised hopes that he might return to action before the season was out.
Yet, he backtracked after the post-split SPL fixture announcement. A final day run out on Killie’s plastic pitch would be too great a risk.

However, he has now finally returned to first team training.
Murphy was snapped taking a full part in today’s session as preparations ramp up ahead of the Old Firm.
He can be seen heading out to the pitch, stretching and most encouragingly, joining in with training matches.

The Scotland international looked pleased to be back after a long rehab process.
Furthermore, plenty of Bears were happy to see him.
