Rangers fans have reacted with delight after Borna Barisic sang his own song during a Premier Sports interview ahead of the Scottish Cup clash against Stranraer.

The left-back didn’t actually feature the Fourth Round tie at Ibrox as he was rested ahead of the return to Premiership action next Wednesday, but he sat down for a feature interview at the Hummel Training Centre prior to the game.

Barisic was outstanding over the first half of the season, having completed a remarkable transformation from the player who struggled to impress during the 2018/19 campaign, which was his first with the club.

As he struggled for fitness and form last season, many Bears had all but written him off.

Over the last few months, though, he’s converted the doubters and blossomed into a fan favourite.

He now even has his own song, which has been heard up and down the country since it was first wheeled out earlier in the campaign.

When asked about his relationship with the fans, the 27-year-old’s face lit up.

“Very nice, very nice at this moment,” a smiling Barisic told Premier Sports. “They always actually supported me you know even when I had some hard times…I know there was some time when they thought I should go, but that’s normal when you are injured and struggling.”

“This season, when I showed everything I have, I mean the relationship is so good with them. I have my own song and yeah, it’s crazy to be in my position.”

After being asked if he knew the words to the chant, he said “Of course!” and proceeded to give a rendition.

Naturally, Bears absolutely lapped up the footage and if anything, with this act, the full-back has cemented his hero status even further.
