Rangers fans react to “unbelievable” Dortmund rival during Euro clash

Rangers’ performance against Borussia Dortmund in Thursday evenings Europa League clash will go down in the history of the club as one of our finest ever European results, but it wasn’t just the Gers players who were earning the plaudits.

Dortmund starlet Jude Bellingham was outstanding over the course of the two legs as he scored twice and if it weren’t for the Ibrox side being relentless in front of goal, then he could have been the matchwinner for the Germans.

Having signed for the Bundesliga side in July 2020 from Birmingham for an initial fee of £25m which made him the most expensive 17-year-old in history.

He has excelled for both Dortmund and England over the previous year and a half and plenty of the Rangers faithful showed their appreciation for the player on Twitter during the match.

It’s remarkable to think that he is still only 18 and is starring for one of the finest sides in Europe. Although he was sent home from Ibrox with his tail between his legs last night, he was classy as ever.

The Englishman posted on Instagram about the tie and said “respect and all the best to Rangers FC for the season” which highlights just how much class he and the team have, despite an agonising aggregate defeat against the Ibrox side, the first thought is to wish us well going forward.

The young midfielder certainly has a massive future ahead of him, and one can only think that Borussia Dortmund is only a stepping stone for something bigger in the next few years. It’s refreshing to see such a calm head on a player so inexperienced. Hopefully, he can continue to inspire plenty of youngsters as his extraordinary journey continues.
