Steven Gerrard has named his Rangers starting XI for tonight’s Fourth Round Scottish Cup clash against Stranraer.

The two sides will face off in a 7.45pm kick-off at Ibrox, in what is the Gers’ first competitive fixture of 2020.

Earlier in the week, the manager said he would make changes but still name a strong team to take on the League One opposition [Rangers FC Twitter], as the Gers look to make a statement on their return from the winter break.

James Tavernier and Filip Helander were both ruled out in advance through injury, while Alfredo Morelos was unavailable due to suspension.

In the end, Gerrard made seven changes to the side that defeated Celtic late last month.

Wes Foderingham deputises for the rested Allan McGregor between the sticks, and he will be patrolling behind an unfamiliar back four.

Nathan Patterson makes his competitive debut at right-back, with George Edmundson partnering Nikola Katic at centre-back and Andy Halliday getting a rare outing on the left.

Further up the pitch, Joe Aribo, Steven Davis and Ryan Jack are all retained from the Parkhead victory.

However, into the side, come Scott Arfield, Jordan Jones, and Jermain Defoe, in place of Glen Kamara, Ryan Kent and Morelos.

On the bench, there are spots for both Lewis Mayo and exciting winger Kai Kennedy, who will both be hoping to make their own competitive debuts later in the game.

Will this side be strong enough to see the Gers sail through to the Fifth Round?
