Rangers fans have reacted to the exciting news that young full-back Nathan Patterson has signed a contract extension keeping him at Ibrox until 2022.
The 18-year-old has played a big part in the Colts team that has reached the semi-final of the Challenge Cup and Graeme Murty described him as having ‘elite-level’ traits earlier in the season.
It’s a long-term deal for a player who is yet to make his first-team debut, but it’s a sign of just how highly he’s rated that the announcement was made from the club’s main Twitter page rather than from the Youth Academy account.
“I am obviously delighted because I have been working hard and that is what you want to achieve, a new contract and you want to stay here for as long as you can and push on,” said Patterson, as quoted by Rangers.co.uk.
“I feel as if I have got a great chance at this club, it is a huge club and it is the club I support so obviously I want to stay here and try and make my place in the team.

“I’m hoping to keep doing what I’m doing and progress with the Development Squad and try and get under the Gaffer’s eye and hopefully take my chance when it comes.”
It’s a big coup for the club to be able to tie the Scotland U19 international to a new deal and the news has gone down extremely well on social media.
