Rangers fans have reacted to the news that former player Kenny Miller has retired from football after a 22-year playing career.
The 40-year-old forward played for Partick Thistle over the first half of this season, but after his Firhill contract was terminated by mutual consent last month, he’s decided to hang up his boots.
Miller enjoyed a remarkable career, earning 69 caps for Scotland, representing 12 different clubs and scoring in four different decades.
The vast majority of his success came at Rangers, though, across three stints with the club.
In 265 competitive appearances in all competitions, he netted 103 goals and registered 57 assists, which is an impressive haul.
He won three league titles, a Scottish Cup and the League Cup, while also playing a part in winning the Championship and Challenge Cup titles during the 2015/16 season.
Miller isn’t universally popular amongst Rangers fans, due in part to his foray to Celtic during the 2006/07 season, as well as the controversial end to his third spell at Ibrox and his subsequent comments.
Consequently, not all the reaction on social media has been positive.
However, most fans have celebrated his efforts in a Gers shirt as well as his incredible longevity and contribution to the game.
