Rangers legend Ally McCoist has been catching the eyes of the Ibrox legions after the club’s greatest ever goalscorer joined Instagram.

Following a range of entertaining stories from his official account, the former Ibrox gaffer looks on top form and has been getting plenty of plaudits for his patter.

McCoist is currently working as a pundit and has plenty of TV experience throughout his career, so being on camera is nothing new to him.

The former Question of Sport host made headlines via Instagram stories after ditching a trip to Spurs new stadium to watch Rangers against St. Mirren.

Super Ally has always been one of the most popular characters in Scottish sport and media and the 57-year-old continues to entertain after his spells as Ibrox boss came to an end.

Playing 581 games for Rangers and scoring 355 goals, McCoist made a career as a penalty box poacher and established himself as one of the greatest European strikers of his era.

McCoist would return to Ibrox as Walter Smith’s assistant in 2007 after managing Scotland alongside the Ibrox legend.

After four years as assistant, McCoist was appointed manager of the club during the most tumultuous spell in Ibrox history.

Now back amongst the laughs as a pundit, Rangers fans took to Twitter to express their delight at him joining Instagram:
