However, she was unavailable for the Livingston match and as a result, a replacement had to be drafted in.

The club opted for Becky Ives, an England-based presenter who works for both the Premier League and BT Sport.

Ives had worked on the latter’s coverage of Aston Villa vs Leeds United on Friday night before travelling to Ibrox for her RangersTV debut.

There was a switch of location for the broadcast, too, with the crew moving things from the usual trackside position to the Ibrox suite, which has been converted into a temporary studio so that the team are protected from the elements.

The stand-in host was joined by regular pundit Neil McCann and club legend, Barry Ferguson, and there were plenty of positives to discuss given Rangers’ recent strong form and the 2-0 win on the day.

Ives received rave reviews from Gers fans, who were impressed by how thoroughly she had researched the club in advance.

When she tweeted on Sunday evening saying it had been a ‘privilege’ to step in, many took the opportunity to praise her work.
