Rangers fans have raved about Leon Balogun on Twitter after the defender tweeted to acknowledge Sunday’s 2-1 win at Dundee United.
Balogun signed for the Gers in the summer following a brief stint at Wigan Athletic and although he’s been troubled by the odd niggle, he’s made an outstanding start at Ibrox.

With Nikola Katic out injured, cover was required at centre-back and the Nigeria international has played a key role, especially in recent weeks with Filip Helander self-isolating and George Edmundson serving a ban.
The 32-year-old has started each of Rangers’ last four matches in all competitions and the goal scored by Liam Smith at Tannadice at the weekend was the first the club have conceded in domestic football with Balogun on the pitch.
For many, Helander is still the ideal partner for Connor Goldson, but Balogun’s pace and athleticism make him a tough man for attackers to get the better of.
His ability to carry the ball out from the back and to play long diagonals, also ensures the responsibility of initiating attacks doesn’t always fall to Goldson.

Supporters have been impressed ever since his strong showing on debut at Aberdeen in August and when he took to Twitter on Monday to celebrate earning three points in Dundee, many showered him with praise.
“Good way to end a tough week (as you can tell by my face),” he wrote. “On to the next one!”

With Rangers in such fantastic form right now, though, Balogun isn’t the only player receiving a lot of praise from the supporters.
