Rangers fans have raved about young winger Kai Kennedy after his excellent performance in a 3-0 Championship win for Inverness Caley Thistle over Queen of the South at Palmerston Park on Friday night.

Kennedy made his first-team debut for the Gers in January in a Scottish Cup clash against Stranraer.

He’s regarded as one of the brightest prospects to have come through the club’s academy in recent years, but his future at Ibrox is still in doubt.

The teenager’s contract expires in the summer and although it was recently reported that both parties want to extend his deal [Glasgow Live], an agreement is yet to be reached.

While negotiations allegedly continue in the background, Kennedy is playing regularly in the second-tier with loan club, Inverness.

John Robertson’s side have had a mixed start to the season, but they secured their third league win on Friday in front of the BBC Scotland cameras.

With a much wider audience tuning in than would usually watch Caley Thistle games, Kennedy took the opportunity to impress.

He wreaked havoc with his pace and trickery down the left and scored a stunning opening goal in the 21st minute.

The goal allowed the visitors to settle into the game and they asserted their dominance in the second half, with Roddy MacGregor and Miles Storey wrapping up what was eventually a comfortable win.

The Gers loanee was subbed off in the 78th minute, just prior to his side’s final goal.

Plenty of Bears tuned in to watch Kennedy and they were excited by what they saw.

Kennedy wasn’t the only Gers loanee in action on the night, with James Maxwell playing the full 90 minutes at left-back for QoS.
