Slavia Prague defender Ondrej Kudela has been found guilty of racially abusing Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara by UEFA and handed a 10-match ban.
Gers midfielder Kamara has also been handed a three-match suspension for an assault on Kudela in the aftermath of the incident.
The decision has been met with anger from the footballing community who believe that the punishment handed to Kudela is not in line with the offence.
This is something which is multiplied by numerous UEFA and individual association campaigns against racism – particularly this season – and the circumstances surrounding the case.
Not only that, but this is the minimum length of ban which can be issued to a player found guilty of this offence with many viewing the decision as all too lenient given the gravity of what Kudela said.
Kamara and teammate Bongani Zungu both corroborated evidence that Kudela described the Finnish international as a “monkey” with an expletive before using the term.
Rangers star Kamara’s lawyer has already railed against the decision, claiming it makes a “mockery” of UEFA’s apparent stance on racist abuse.

Kamara isn’t the only Rangers player who has been banned in the fall-out from the match with teammate Kemar Roofe also being suspended for four matches.
This was for an accidental and mistimed high-boot challenge in the match which led to Slavia keeper Ondrej Kolar being stretchered off the park and Kemar seeing red.
