Less than ten minutes later, the advantage was doubled and the points effectively sealed courtesy of a sublime first-time finish from Jermain Defoe.

It wasn’t just the goalscorers who impressed on the day, though.

James Tavernier has been in outstanding form so far this season and he put in another commanding display from right-back.

The visitors didn’t create a great deal in the final third, but he was alert when called upon defensively, contributing to a tenth Gers clean sheet in twelve league matches.

As usual, he was most impressive in attack, though, and the skipper notched his sixth assist of 2020/21 with an incredible arcing ball in behind the Livingston defence to pick out Defoe.

Tavernier now has 15 direct goal contributions in 16 appearances this season and plenty of Bears are delighted with what he’s offering the team.
