Rangers fans love it as Ibrox star's national team offer him birthday treat

Rangers star Borna Barisic was presented with a special birthday cake by his national team as he turned 28 on international duty.

The popular full-back is the Balkans nation’s number one choice in the left-back berth and celebrated his latest milestone whilst out on duty with the Croatian team.

Translated into English the tweet reads:

“In the company of national teammates, today the left defender of Vatreni Borna Barišić celebrated his birthday – we join in the congratulations and wish him all the best!”

The official Rangers Twitter account would respond directly to the image with a simply Happy Birthday message.

But the club themselves would also send out a message to the Croatian full-back on their main page as he celebrated his birthday.

Rangers fans would flock to the Croatian national side’s official Twitter account to salute their “sweet Croatian Prince” on the day of his birth.

Barisic has been a mainstay in the Rangers side this season and boasts an impressive seven assists in 18 games, also scoring a sweet free-kick against St. Johnstone earlier in the season.

Barisic has also contributed to 15 clean sheets in the matches he has played this season.

Whilst the Croatian is the first choice and a fan favourite at Rangers, can Gers fans also get excited about an Ibrox deputy who is emerging as a capable back-up?
