Gibraltar side Lincoln Red Imps had Rangers fans in stitches when they publicly refuted claims Celtic’s quadruple treble is “a world first”.
The Gibraltarian minnows have faced off against both Glasgow giants in recent seasons, famously defeating Celtic 1-0 in the first leg of a Champions League qualifier in 2016 and being humbled 5-0 by Rangers in a Europa League qualifier earlier this season.
But it was green side of Glasgow which would once again feel the wrath of the Red Imps as they called out the claim that Celtic are the only side to ever complete a run of 12 trophies on the bounce.
The lowly Gibraltar outfit – who’re ranked 200th in the UEFA Club coefficient rankings – publicly responded to a Celtic tweet about their quadruple treble.
In the response they demanded Celtic “hold my beer” as they bigged up an unprecedented quintuple treble between 2003 and 2008.
Whilst both teams might operate in a different stratosphere it’s the same excuse Celtic fans need to bat away when confronted by supporters from the big leagues around Europe.
Rangers fans naturally loved the response and took to Twitter to goad their rivals as our Parkhead rivals were left speechless by the European minnows:

Whilst Rangers fans might be having fun goading their rivals over the grandiose nature of their achievements, the fact remains it’s up to the Ibrox club to break their chain of dominance.
Rangers must use the pain of Celtic’s latest trophy victory to catapult them to success in the Scottish Premiership.
