Rangers fans left furious as SFA take decision on Kemar Roofe appeal

Furious Rangers fans have lambasted the SFA after striker Kemar Roofe’s two-match suspension for a late challenge on Murray Davidson was upheld by the disciplinary panel.

That’s despite a charge levelled at Celtic striker Albian Ajeti being dismissed as not proven and another high-profile incident involving Motherwell’s Devante Cole going unchecked.

Rangers and their supporters have been outspoken in recent weeks regarding “consistency” in the panel’s decision-making with the Gers once again on the receiving end of retrospective action.

Gers striker Alfredo Morelos is currently two games into a three-match suspension for a clash with Hibs defender Ryan Porteous with Roofe joining him in the stands for the weekend’s game against Kilmarnock.

That leaves Rangers with Swiss forward Cedric Itten and veteran striker Jermain Defoe for the weekend’s visit of Tommy Wright’s side, should Defoe be deemed fit.

The situation involving the SFA retrospective panel continues to be a huge source of frustration for Rangers fans who have railed against similar challenges not being pulled up by the powers that be.

The club’s supporters once again took to Twitter to vent their frustration at the disciplinary process as their £3.5m summer signing is set to be side-lined for two matches:

Rangers fans are clearly furious at the inconsistency at the SFA when it comes to these decisions and they most certainly aren’t the only ones.

The Gers striker himself reacted angrily to the charge on social media as he gets a rude awakening to the nature of Scottish football.
