Rangers fans have been heaping praise on the one and only Steven Davis as the Northern Ireland international matched Pat Jennings’ 119-cap Ulster cap record.
The midfielder matched the legendary goalkeeper’s record and will now look to become the most capped Northern Irish player of all time in the next international break in October.
But for now the midfielder will revel in matching the record set by the legendary Jennings on what eventually turned out to be a disappointing night for Northern Ireland.
The nation was dumped 5-1 by a rampant Norway at Windsor Park in the UEFA Nations League as the Scandinavian nation flexed their muscles.
Scotland may well have to play the Norwegians in the UEFA Nations League Playoffs for Euro 2020 – if they get by Israel and Norway Serbia – and this was an insight into the power the team have.
But taking nothing away from Steven Davis, Rangers fans united to lavish the ex-Ibrox captain with praise for reaching this monumental record.

The Ibrox fans aren’t the only ones who’ve been talking up the Ulster Xavi either.
Rangers boss Steven Gerrard talked up Davo’s achievements in the press prior to the defeat to Norway.
“I have got nothing but admiration for Steven,” Gerrard told BBC Radio Ulster show Sportsound Extra Time.
“It would be a magnificent achievement for him to equal the record.
“From someone who knows what you have to sacrifice to get to those sort of numbers, he deserves a lot of credit and all the plaudits that will come his way.
“It just goes to show the standards he sets himself on a daily basis.”
Rangers midfielder Davis will now look to break the cap record before setting his sights on the British all-time cap record, currently held by England international goalkeeper Peter Shilton (125).
