As Rangers crashed out of the Betfred Cup courtesy of a 3-2 defeat to St. Mirren, naturally it had Celtic fans in buoyant mood.
The Parkhead club’s support has had little to shout about as of late and as a result of Rangers showing a chink in their armour, their fans were in elated form after the shock defeat.

But with Celtic already out of the cup, 13 points behind in the title race and out of the Europa League, Rangers fans have laughed off the reaction from our rivals.
For many Rangers fans, Celtic fans indulging in our cup exit whilst their season hangs by a thread has to be the biggest irony of the season so far.
Whilst their side toils – and apparently turns a corner as the old cliché goes – the Parkhead support feel justified in bemoaning Rangers for crashing out of the cup.
That’s despite protests, riots and a massive fall-out to their recent form, during a period where the hapless Parkhead club only won two games in twelve matches.
Rangers fans were in defiant mood regarding their Celtic Park rivals as the Ibrox support laughed off their reaction to Rangers’ Betfred Cup exit:

The result also brings into question the mentality of Steven Gerrard and his side after the club missed out on a seventh domestic trophy in a row.
