Rangers fans laugh off John Hartson as Celtic fan “meltdown continues”

Former Celtic striker John Hartson has waded into the debate surrounding the SFA charges being brought against Rangers, namely by bemoaning the Ibrox response.

The burly former Parkhead forward took to Twitter to almost incoherently smash out a message concerning the moral outrage he apparently feels about those gestures at Celtic Park.

Without any hint of irony, the notorious ex-striker has opted to lecture the Ibrox club on morality, justice and making statements. At least I think that’s what he’s trying to do.

Not stopping for a breath as he vehemently slams his fist on to his phone’s keyboard, Hartson makes mention of the word “astounded” a whole four times and hints that Rangers are “morally dreadful”.

Why you ask?

Because the club released a furious statement responding to SFA charges being brought against Rangers and two of their coaches [SFA] for incidents at Easter Road and Celtic Park.

The statement [Rangers] generally appears to concern the fact Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos have been mentioned alongside the Celtic Park charge.

Why the issue?

Because there have been so many instances, too numerous to mention (but we’ll start by Scott Brown giving the “get it up ye” to Rangers fans last season, Lustig and the polis hat, scarf tying, snotter wiping – the list is endless) which have gone unchallenged by the SFA.

The Ibrox club have a point – if we’re to be reprimanded, then why haven’t Celtic been for the plethora of gluttonous celebrations their players have indulged in over the last few seasons?

Not that any of this or the Rangers celebrations deserve a comparison.

They’re largely incomparable, a nothingness stirred up by the fact bitter Celtic fans like Hartson need to lick the still very open sores caused by that pumping they received on their own patch a whole 21 days ago.

Rangers are outraged – quite rightly by the way – that because the SFA is so desperate to appease the baying hordes they’ve gone and roped all this in together.

Some of the club’s supporters have taken to Twitter to respond to John Hartson’s standard grade level insight:

And what have we learned about all of this?

That the comments of Hartson, Sutton and all the Celtic fans not smart enough to admit the ire they feel is because they were beaten is completely irrelevant.

Focus on the task at hand, take the SFA to task, and send them into the meltdown to beat all meltdowns should we win the title come May.
