Rangers fans have lauded Scott Arfield after the midfielder scored twice and fared well in general play in a Scottish Cup Fifth Round victory over Hamilton Academical on Saturday afternoon.
It was by no means a free-flowing performance from the Gers, who for long periods struggled to move the ball with any pace.
There was plenty of tension amongst the travelling support with the scores still at 1-1 after the hour mark. Yet, three goals in the final 20 minutes saw Steven Gerrard’s side ease home in the end.

Continuing in midfield for his fourth consecutive start, Arfield opened the scoring in the 25th minute courtesy of a stroke of fortune.
He saw a penalty denied by Luke Southwood, but the keeper’s palmed save arrived straight back at his feet, and he finished into a near open goal.
There was no luck about his second effort, though.
In the dying embers of the game, he latched onto a loose ball on the edge of the area and sent a fine side-footed effort curling into the left side of the goal via the crossbar.

The special finish put some gloss on the scoreline and sent away fans home with a spring in their step.
Plenty of Bears took to social media to praise the Canadian international for his goals and his overall performance.
