Rangers fans have praised Kai Kennedy after the teenage attacker played a major part in the Youth Cup dismantling of Celtic on Sunday afternoon.

In a replay of last year’s final, the Old Firm met in the second round of the competition at Broadwood.

It was a one-sided affair, though, with the Gers running out 5-0 winners.

17-year-old Kennedy, who was named player of the tournament at the Alkass Cup in Doha last season, was the standout performer for the Gers.

He registered an assist for the second goal, which was scored by Nathan Young-Coombes.

Then, in the closing stages, with the Gers already holding a three-goal advantage, he produced a moment of magic.

After being picked out on the left-wing, the no.10 drove forward before cutting inside, steadying himself and sending a superb curling effort beyond the Hoops keeper and in off the post.

The confidence is clearly oozing through the youngster right now, and he began to wheel away to celebrate before it had even found the net.

When footage of the effort emerged on social media, Bears were quick to praise the young prospect both for his goal and for his overall performance.

Many Bears will be hoping that over the next few seasons, he can make it all the way through the ranks to the first team.
