Ahead of last Thursday’s crucial European tie in Denmark, few predicted that Steven Gerrard would select Jordan Jones.
Yet, he was handed a start and impressed, offering Rangers cutting edge on the break.
He earned the praise of his manager, who challenged him to bring more consistency to his game [Evening Times].

Four days later, he got the chance to reproduce his Midtjylland exploits, when handed a start on the left against Hibernian.
Once again, he took his opportunity.
Despite the conditions, he was electric in parts, with his run and clever pass to Sheyi Ojo in the build-up to Jermain Defoe’s second goal, a particular highlight.
The Northern Ireland international may still be waiting on his maiden Gers goal, but his pace and trickery is certainly helping others get on the scoresheet.
Jones plays with exciting freedom and there’s no doubt there’ll be times that will bring frustration for the Ibrox faithful. There’ll be days when the ambitious runs don’t work out and he’ll be caught in possession.
Yet, right now, he’s doing the business.

Rangers fans laud Jones
For those who initially doubted the thinking behind prising him from Killie, his last two displays have been something of a surprise.
Judging by the reactions of many fans after the Hibs win, though, those same fans are all too happy to have been proven wrong.
When Jones took to social media to celebrate, he was inundated with praise.
