Rangers fans have lauded Joe Aribo for a stunning display against Hibernian on Friday evening.
The 23-year-old was urged to play with freedom by Steven Gerrard ahead of the game [Daily Record], and he was included in the starting XI in his increasingly familiar advanced right position.
It didn’t take him long to get into the action and after just four minutes, he closed down Ofir Marciano, whose partially blocked clearance fell for Ryan Kent to dispatch a very tidy finish.
Just minutes later, Aribo would get himself on the scoresheet.
After neat link-up play down the right, Ryan Jack picked out the Nigeria international just as he arrived in the box, and he steered a superb first-time finish with his favoured left foot into the far top corner.
He continued to be influential thereafter, as the Gers cut Hibs open at will for the remainder of the first half.
After the break, he almost grabbed a second, jinking past a defender before skewing wide with his weaker right foot.
The tempo slowed after the red card for Ryan Porteous’ horror challenge, but Aribo remained tidy and influential up until his substitution in the 75th minute.
Following the game, he was picked out as Man of the Match by BT Sport pundits Ally McCoist and Kenny Miller, while he was also heavily praised by Bears on social media.
