Rangers fans were in awe of Allan McGregor last night after the keeper pulled off a wonder save to keep the score 1-1 with Slavia Prague – but it wasn’t the only thing that caught their attention.
Put out in front of the media following the result McGregor spoke to BT Sport with his trademark drawl and Edinburgh accent, speaking bluntly and modestly about the wonder stop.
McGregor’s interviews have always been a joy to behold for supporters as his deadpan style leaves journalists toiling to try and get more information out of him.
“[I seen it] A wee bit late,” said McGregor.
“It’s just one of these things. You react to it, you see it, you stick your hand out and hopefully it doesn’t go in. And it never, so happy days.”
McGregor got down low in the dying embers of the game to somehow keep out a header from a corner which left the Slavia side stunned and his Rangers teammates in awe.
Rangers boss Steven Gerrard would later describe the save as “world class” and said clearly he wants the 39-year-old veteran stopper tied down for another season at Ibrox [BT Sport].
The comments also left BT Sport pundits Ally McCoist and Alan Hutton in hysterics but they aren’t the only ones laughing off McGregor’s interpretation of the save.

Rangers take a 1-1 draw to Ibrox and have the advantage as they look to make the Quarter Finals of the Europa League for the first time under Steven Gerrard.
McGregor wasn’t the only one who caught the eye in the match either, one player directly in front of him was many of the Ibrox supporters’ Man of the Match after a spirited display.
